The world population is growing constantly. Most recently the UN recognized that it has reached 8 billion people. With this the need for nutrition is increasing as well.

Because the Oceans are over-fished already, the use of aquaculture can be considered a substantial part of the conservation effort. Aquaculture is also a highly efficient method to provide nutritional protein.

With the current and future rise of aquaculture, the diagnostic need to prevent the spread of fish and seafood diseases is not met currently. Because of this the Kylt^® Team decided to apply our expertise for diagnostic Real-Time PCR Kits to develop and validate methods to fill the diagnostic gap.
